I had a very well thought out message completed, I hit submit and it didn't post......I guess that I should have copied it before hitting the submit button so I could have tried again; I should have known better because I usually always copy my work for just that sort of reason...

This is a condensed version, I'll post again soon...

My name is Tim Mahovich, a soon to be new member of The Stanley Cooper TU Chapter. I live in Hazleton. 570-455-3736.

I make Bamboo Fly Rods. I am not a fly by night rod maker.
I have references. My work is on display at Ackoureys. I learned from a Master Maker.

I have a goal. To be one of the best Bamboo Fly Rod Makers that this area has ever seen. I am well on my way; I have been told so by others, and Cane Rod collectors as well.

If there is anyone interested in talking cane, drop me a line at rodmaker@ptd.net. or call me. ( no calls after 8:30 PM. unless pre-arranged, my wife goes to bed early)

Anyone interested in a Bamboo Rod, my advice is to take your purchase seriously; don't buy on a whim. If you're going to spend the money on a rod, compare apples to apples.

I offer a very high quality Bamboo Fly Rod at affordable prices and I stand behind my work 100%. Feel free to stop in Ackourey's and check out my work. Have an interest....cast one, you'll love it.

Never fished cane but want to; or you don't want to invest in a rod not knowing if you'd like Bamboo, let's fish!

I'll put a rod in your hand to use and let you experience first hand what it is like to fish with one of the best Bamboo Fly Rods on the market.

I look forward to meeting people and possibly building a client base.

Sorry I didn't spend more time on this post; the first one was a doozie, about an hour of thought and typing but it's out there in cyberspace somewhere.....

Talk to you soon.

Kindest Regards,

Tim Mahovich

Hello Tim,
Looking forward to meeting. Hope you can make your "new" chapters meetings, it would be a great place for you to do some PR. Check out the web site www.sctu.org for all the latest news. We have our Banquet coming up on March 29th, that would be a great place for you to meet people and let them know what you do as well. Ticket information is also on the web. Our next meeting is April 8th , you should enjoy the topic Very Happy
I never have fished with Bamboo Crying or Very sad maybe you can change that Smile

Philip,

Thanks for the response. I might be able to make the April meeting. I sent John S. a proposal for a fund raiser for the chapter and asked he present it at the next meeting. I'd like to see it happen.

I'd like to let you experience Bamboo; we'll have to get together to wet a line very soon.

I made myself 4 rods for my personal aresonal over the winter and I'm working a fifth.

New is:

7'0'' #4 line, a 3pc rod which I've named the "Mountain Freestone"
7'6'' #5 line, a 2 pc rod named The Lehigh ~ Powder Hole
8'0'' #6 line, a 2 pc rod named The Gentleman Angler
8'0'' #6 line, the same rod converted into a 3 pc rod, named The Gentleman Angler II
Would like to make a 8'6'' but have not started that one yet. I have to finish wrapping guides on 3 rods mentioned above.

I also have a single tip 6'3'' that I made in 2006 # 4/5 lines, a real treat.
I have access to my sons rod, a 7 footer # 4/5.

We will find something you like.

Off to work.....

Tim
